The first Vago open meeting of the season will be at the Langstone Harbour Race Weekend. The event will form part of the Vago Travelers Series and UKVA members will enjoy a £6 discount per boat on their entrance fee.
Full Weekend, double handers – £40 (£34 to UKVA members)
Full Weekend, single handers – £30 (£24 to UKVA members)
Entrance fee includes all 6 races, curry at Tudor SC on Friday night, BBQ at Locks SC on Saturday afternoon, an Italian dinner and quiz night at Langstone SC on the Sunday and FREE camping at Langstone SC.
The event is held in Langstone Harbour (a fantastic playground for sailors), which is between Portsea Island (Portsmouth) and Hayling Island on the south coast of the UK. Hosted by the 3 main dinghy sailing clubs in the harbour, Tudor SC, Locks SC and Langstone SC welcome visiting sailors to a weekend of competition and socials. The well established event is in its 7th year and typically attracts over 60 boats.
This year, there have been some tweaks to the format, with 6 races held over 3 days, swapping the ’round the cans’ race that was a feature of the bank holiday Monday for two short course races.
Langstone SC are offering FREE camping to competitors, but have asked all campers to pre-book via the online registration form or by mailing a paper copy in advance. Motor-homes are welcome at both Tudor SC and Langstone SC.
A breakfast galley service is also offered at Tudor SC on all three days prior to racing.
The LHRW has become a regular feature of many class association events calendar, and we are proud to welcome the Wanderer class association back to host their National Championship for a second time. The Buzz and ISO class associations are also coming back for another year. We also extend our welcome to the 4000 class, who are newcomers to the event.
